Math Tutoring Program
Overview
The Math program is designed to help students of all ages, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts. With a focus on problem-solving and logical reasoning, our curriculum prepares students for real-world applications and future academic success. The curriculum is aligned with the New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards and covers a wide range of topics based on grade level(Mathematics Information…)(nys-math-standards-alge…).
Key Topics by Grade Level:
- Elementary (Grades K-5):
Focuses on building fundamental skills such as counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Students are introduced to fractions and geometry by the end of 5th grade. - Middle School (Grades 6-8):
Students begin to explore ratios, algebraic expressions, and linear equations, preparing them for Algebra I, which is a graduation requirement in New York(Mathematics Information…). - High School (Grades 9-12):
The focus shifts to more advanced topics, including geometry, Algebra II, trigonometry, and calculus. Students also have access to electives like Statistics and AP Calculus(Mathematics Information…)(nys-math-standards-alge…).
- Elementary (Grades K-5):
Math Standards:
- Eight Standards for Mathematical Practice:

ELA Tutoring Program: Overview
The ELA (English Language Arts) program is structured to nurture students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Our curriculum spans from Kindergarten to Grade 12, ensuring that students develop the literacy skills required to thrive in school, college, and beyond(MCCSD K-12 ELA Program).
Key Focus Areas by Grade Level:
- Elementary (Grades K-5):
Emphasizes early literacy skills such as phonics, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Students learn to express themselves through writing by producing informative, narrative, and opinion-based pieces(MCCSD K-12 ELA Program). - Middle School (Grades 6-8):
Students dive deeper into complex texts and begin building their analytical skills. They engage in various writing tasks, from creative writing to argumentative essays. The middle school curriculum also focuses on research and critical thinking(MCCSD K-12 ELA Program). - High School (Grades 9-12):
High school students are prepared for college-level literacy, with courses focusing on literature analysis, research projects, and the writing of argumentative and informative essays. The curriculum also includes preparation for standardized exams, such as the Regents in New York(MCCSD K-12 ELA Program).
- Elementary (Grades K-5):
